What can I expect?

In the counselling sessions the client can explore various aspects of their life and feelings, talking about them freely and openly in a way that is rarely possible with friends or family. Bottled up feelings such as anger, anxiety, grief and embarrassment can become very intense and counselling offers an opportunity to explore them,

How can counselling help?

It provides an opportunity to explore problems with someone trained to listen in a non-directive way and to facilitate the person’s own resources for change and resolution of difficulties. It aims to assist individuals to understand how past experience and current behaviour may be linked and leads to a more creative self understanding.

How many sessions will I need?

We will discuss the length of your therapy and number of sessions you may need before and during your course of your therapy. It may be that you only require a few sessions, alternately your therapy may continue over several weeks or months. It all depends on your individual situation.

How long is a session?

Sessions will usually last for 60 minutes, but this can be adapted to suit your needs.

How much does counselling cost?

The sessions are charged at a rate of £30. There is a charge for late notice cancellations, which is discussed during the initial assessment.
